“I can do all things through Christ, Who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13
When I first found out that I was diagnosed with a disease, I thought my life was completely over. My family and I had a gathering, thinking I was going to die. They all prayed for me. Little did they know at that time – I wanted to die. You might ask, “Why?” I know it may sound crazy, but I let my insecurities get in the way… feeling rejected, disowned, and most of all – talked about. I used to think about how the world saw me because the world always saw the worst in me, but God, my Father, saw the best in me.
That was when I built the courage to understand what God’s Word spoke over my life. You see, according to Isaiah 53:5, God heals the sick. I decided to build my courage and pick my head up and hold it high. I stuck my chest out and walked to the microphone on March 31, 2019, at the Hobby Unit telling the whole church about how the Lord has been so good to me.
The Holy Spirit moved in that place! Believe me, when I tell you, everyone stood up to worship and praise. People saw God’s Spirit moving in me. Now the world sees me as a Sister in Christ. My advice to you is to build up your courage by reading what God says over your life. Think about what you have the courage to do!
Prayer: “Dear God, You are mighty and powerful. Nothing is too difficult for you! You have chosen to use weak ones like me to accomplish Your purpose. My weakness is designed to open up Your power. Therefore, I will stay connected to You, fully trusting in You and dependent on Your limitless resources. When I face hardships, I will not panic or be afraid. I know you’re standing by my side and will equip me fully to handle them. Thank You Jesus for giving me courage for each day that I live, for making me wiser, stronger, and better. Father, I am willing to talk with You and listen while You talk me through each challenging situation. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
