A Blessing Bag Testimonial
Oh my God, where to begin. First, I thank God for Disciples 4 Christ and I thank the ministry and the volunteers for all that they do. Being formerly incarcerated on the Hughes unit, I can’t really explain the impact this ministry has had on Hughes, especially the blessing bags. The impact those little bags have is nothing short of phenomenal.
The holiday season is usually a sad and downtime of the year for many incarcerated, but that first weekend in December the whole atmosphere would change. You see the guys that didn’t get visits, didn’t get much or never felt like anyone cared, experienced those things they were missing. The time, money, love & sacrifice from the volunteers is felt in those bags, and the smiles from the guys let you know that.
For some, it won’t be till the same time next year that they’ll receive anything from the outside; visit, gift or hope. These bags give them hope that they’re not forgotten and that God loves them.
Thank You and God Bless,
Bro. Tim Winters
