“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” – Romans 12:10
How many times have we been angry with “one another”…whether it’s someone similar to you or someone totally different. Angry at the cashier or bank teller for giving us the wrong change? The drive-through window attendant for getting our order wrong. Even after they sincerely apologized to us, we still stayed upset, frustrated, or even angry at them.
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves (Romans 12:10). It is not, be devoted and honor just your Christian friends or family members. No! It’s every soul you come in contact with – those like you and those different from you.
Start small. Next time you’re dealing with “one another”, pray this prayer, “Jesus, through the power of Your Holy Spirit help me to devote myself to this person as You have devoted Yourself to me. Help me to honor him/her as You have honored me. Amen.”
The more you pray this prayer, the broader your horizons expand. You will see growth in your life and the joy it brings to “one another”.
