Back in the fall, I remember Bob and I going to the theater to watch the newly released film “Courageous”. As I sat there God started speaking to my heart about the importance of the message and how the men within the gates of TDCJ need to see this film. Later, I shared what God had laid on my heart with D4C Board of Directors. They too became excited of what God was doing. In January, I met with the Wardens of the Hughes unit who not only agreed that the movie could be shown but also wanted the message taught in the faith dorm.
Then God reminded me of a marriage seminar I had worked at the Regional Chaplain Wallace Nelsons clerk that was hosted by Discipleship Unlimited. God used Dallas Storm and other male volunteers to show me what a true man of God looked like and that the women within the gates also needed to have a clear understanding of what a man of honor and integrity looked like.
All I could say is, “Alright Lord, you open the gates of the units you want this movie shown in and I’ll go.”
This Friday several volunteers will join myself, Bob and the D4C Board of Directors as we host the first viewing on the Hobby Unit. Please pray the hearts of these ladies to receive what God has for them. To use this movie to motivate them for change, to teach the word and take part in the praise and worship music. Lord may we give comfort and encouragement through the love of Christ. I pray that there will not be any distractions. I pray that each of these ladies will come in with expectant hearts and leave blessed. Lord prepare us with the right message. The right mindset. Prepare us to be ready to stand in the gap. In all that we do let us glorify you and let this place be a temple of praise. To give you thanksgiving and a passion to draw closer to you. In Jesus Might Name. Amen.
Blessings to all,
Susan Neyra
